ORDERING YOUR HURST COMPETITION PLUS REBUILD AND RESTORATION
Ready to order? Here are the steps, information and what to expect.
- Fill out the order form below.
- We will email you an order number along with shipping instructions.
- You ship your shifter ONLY (no linkage, no shift lever) to us.
- Please note if you have one of the early models the stick is welded to the receiver and can not be removed please send us a picture and we will approve shipping it to us with the stick installed.
- If you have a bayonet (slide-in) stick and receiver, please send a picture and let us know. We can email you instructions for removing your stick. DO NOT drill out the detents (dents/dimples)!!!. If you can not remove a bayonet style stick, contact us for approval to ship your shifter with the stick installed. We charge $60 per hour labor to remove your stick. If we have to resort to heating the rubber isolators, your stick could potentially be affected by the heat from the torch. We use a wet rag on the stick to avoid any damage to your stick and do our very best to avoid damage to your stick. In any case we can not guarantee that you stick will not be adversely affected during the removal process. We assume no liability for any changes or damages to your stick during its removal. It is very unlikely to happen, but you should be aware of these potential issues and that we accept no liability for your stick.
- We will open the case of your shifter, inspect what we can and give you the most accurate PRELIMINARY estimate that we can before a total dis-assembly. *If you decide you don’t want to proceed with the rebuild there is no charge for the preliminary inspection. You only have to pay for the return shipping, about $20.
- After you approve the preliminary estimate, we will completely dis-assemble your shifter, perform a more thorough inspection and give you a FINAL, accurate estimate. *If you decide you don’t want to proceed after we completely dis-assemble your shifter, we will invoice you for $50 for the dis-assembly and re-assembly of your shifter plus return shipping. Or we can send it back to you dis-assembled for $20 for the dis-assembly plus return shipping.
- You can decide and change any of the Optional Services that you want at this point and give us your final order and final approval.
- We rebuild and restore your shifter. When we’re done, then we’ll send you an invoice. You can pay with Paypal or a major credit card. After you pay we will ship your shifter back to you.
